On Saturday 22nd January 2022 the First XV suffered a heavy defeat at Keighley in a Yorkshire League Two game, the result was 100 points to 8. As a Club we are of course disappointed in that headline. No one will feel the pain of that loss more than the players and coaching staff involved.
We faced a very strong Keighley side, league leaders and bouncing back from their first defeat of the season. The score line in no way reflects the efforts of the players on the day, who battled valiantly and never gave in!
It is important as a Club that we rally around our players and coaches, support them and remain positive. It is easy to forget only three matches ago, against Yarnbury, we played some of the best rugby seen at Ripon for many years.
Rugby is no different than life itself; you have your ups and downs! It is how you deal with setbacks that really matters. Ripon RUFC is strong and united; we stick together and we remain behind the players that wear the shirt and make us proud, every week!
