An update on Archie Thompson who was injured early in yesterday’s 1st XV match at Mallorie Park.

Archie is currently in Leeds General Infirmary after sustaining a C5 fracture (vertebrae) and is due to undergo surgery tomorrow. He is in good spirits and in Archie’s own words “I should be out in a couple of days so will hopefully be at the final on Saturday to support the team”.

From myself and everyone at the club, we wish Archie a swift and full recovery.

Ruth and Dave, Archie’s mum and dad, have asked me to convey their appreciation for the care that Archie received on the pitch from the match day support team. Charlie Brooksbank, assisted by Emily Cooper and Katie Denver-Smith, did a fantastic job and ensured that Archie received the correct attention and that appropriate procedures were followed. A sentiment that is supported by myself, the rest of the match day team and the committee.
